Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British and American sitar player. She also sings. She was the youngest and first woman to receive the British House of Commons Shield she's had nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian origin to play live and to be a presenter for the ceremony. Anoushka Shakar, who is just a emerging singer on Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is a scholar and granddaughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. She was born London in 1982, and the first few years of her life she was split between London New Delhi. When she was 13 she performed her first show in New Delhi. Then she moved in Encinitas CA, where she earned her High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha even though she is just 17 years old, has had a successful performing and recording career. She frequently joins her father in performances this she has been doing for a number of years. She released her first single album Anourag in 1998. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy nominated album Live at Carnegie Hall. Her stage career is very broad as she's appeared in all of the biggest venues in the world. Anoushka's career does not only include music. In 2002, she wrote an autobiography titled Bapi The Love of My Live this is a picture-based biography, which pays special respect to her dad Ravi Shankar. In addition, she acted in a film in 2003. Her role was as a Bharat natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka shankar is a rising superstar and her fame will continue to grow. Anoushka Shankar is a British born singer who travelled her childhood in London, Delhi and California. at the age of nine She began studying music alongside her father. Her debut performance on the Sitar took place at her 75th Birthday celebration in Delhi in the year following. Anoushka was able to gain a variety of valuable experiences by accompanying her dad when he toured the world. This included performing in Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festivals and making recordings with George Harrison. Her artistry and musicianship have been acknowledged by the British parliament as among the finest in Asian Arts.
